UnitedHealth, CVS Among Major Insurers To Fast-Track Prior Authorizations: Will It Cut Profits Even More?

Leading health insurers announced on Monday that they have agreed to a set of measures aimed at connecting patients to care faster and reducing paperwork for providers.

What To Know: According to CNBC, several major U.S. health insurers, including CVS Health Corp. (NYSE:CVS), UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE:UNH) and Elevance Health, Inc. (NYSE:ELV), will voluntarily speed up and simplify the prior authorization process, which often causes delays and frustrations for patients and healthcare providers.
